First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Everlane.
Brand Ambassador
There were three interviews. The first was a phone call, the second was in person at the store, and the third was another phone call where they pretty much tell you if you got the job. The first phone interview was really chill, they just wanted to get to know you and talk about your background. The in-person one at the store was more about why you like the company, why you applied for this specific role, and also about how you'd handle real-life situations.

Marketing
It started with a 30-minute phone screen, then a 90-minute on-site with three back-to-back interviews. Honestly, after the initial phone screen, I almost backed out. The recruiter came across as arrogant, bragging about accomplishments and claiming Everlane is untouchable and can do anything, which felt over the top and distasteful. He also interrupted me a lot, talked to others offline while I was speaking, and I could hear scoffing in the background. He kept mentioning 'startup culture,' but Everlane seems way bigger than a startup now. That call left a bad impression, so I was surprised to get an on-site. The in-person interviews with three team members confirmed my suspicions about the work environment, though the interviews themselves went fine with standard behavioral questions. The interviewers were nice but still overly egotistical. I followed up with thank-you emails as per standard etiquette. I didn't expect an offer due to body language and an unprofessional hint that the job was already filled, but I still expected more than a one-sentence automated rejection email, especially after taking a full day off. The whole experience felt like the company relies on its past success as a small company to excuse current subpar practices and big egos. It's no longer a startup, and that's not an excuse for bad interview etiquette.

Marketing
It felt like they were looking for free consulting. I had a really long phone screen with HR that was so lengthy we had to connect again the next day to cover all the questions they were instructed to ask. They asked standard phone screen questions, but then delved into very specific marketing queries like marketing spend mix percentage breakout, channel revenue mix, time allocation between retention and acquisition, and the budget size I've managed. They asked many questions that only required one-word answers and didn't seem to show interest in my experience, thought process, leadership background, values, or work style.
