The in-person part of the interview process was pretty quick and straightforward. The vibe was super professional but also really friendly. Finding the Creative Circle office was no problem, and my contact person was great! The whole thing lasted about half an hour. First, I chatted with my recruiter, talked about my background, and then showed them some of my portfolio. They ended up finding me a job in a few weeks.

Creative Circle has a pretty unique interview process. After I applied to a bunch of jobs, they emailed me saying they liked my work and wanted to set up an interview. Before that, I had to fill out a Candidate Profile (basic info, salary needs, skills, software, education, experience, work samples), give them references (at least 3, with 2 supervisors), and sign a contract. The contract was a bit weird, making me agree to work with them for a year to find clients, even if I found my own freelance work. It also had usual clauses about benefits, termination, and needing permission to show work in my portfolio. Since I'm not in Chicago, the interview was over the phone. The rep went over my profile, asked about the kind of work I was looking for, and explained the contract again. Then, I had to present my portfolio over the phone, which was a first for me. It seemed to go okay, though she seemed a bit rushed at the end. Right after the call, she sent her contact info and mentioned a couple of positions she'd submit me for. I assumed I was being represented since no one explicitly said it. About a week later, I had an interview with one of their clients, and I got hired a week and a half after that. It was a fast process from getting picked up by CC to getting hired by a client.

You send in your resume for an open role and get an email confirming receipt. About a week later, they'll email you if they want to pass your resume to a client. You'll get another confirmation email once it's submitted and then just wait to hear back. If the client is interested, they'll set up an interview, which could be over the phone, Zoom, Google Meets, or Teams.
