Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Everest College.
Teacher
I did a mini teach presentation to show my teaching skills. It was in front of 5 staff members and the director. I was interviewed by the department chair first, then by the education director.
- What strategies would you use if a student isn't taking notes or actively participating during a lecture?
Instructor
So I interviewed for a Medical Assistant Instructor position and the interview process had four people from the college - two instructors and two administrators. It was a group interview format. They said that if only two of us showed up for the next step, we'd be assessed to meet the Dean of the Board of Education. One instructor and one administrator walked me out and seemed really sure they'd call me to meet the dean. I waited and called them three times, but they never called me back. I thought this was really disturbing and unprofessional. I've found another job now, but those interviewers at Everest College acted super inconsiderately - why say they'd call me back? The office and job setting looked nice though.
- How would you handle a student who is causing problems in your class?
Instructor
The hiring process was confusing. Management and HR continuously dropped the ball. I began interviewing in April and started working there in Aug. I realized the problems I would face with mismanagement at that point, and made a grave mistake moving forward, accepting the position. Regional Director was rude and arrogant beginning in hiring process and straight through my employment.
- What are your five-year career aspirations
