Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evercore Partners.
Analyst
It was a super tough interview process, very technical with hardly any behavioral questions. The interviewers were mostly analysts and seemed to know exactly what they were looking for in an analyst. Since they work long hours, they probably want someone who can handle the grind.
- Could you explain a Leveraged Buyout (LBO) to me?
Summer Analyst
We had 2 rounds of interviews, the first one was virtual and the second one was an in-person Superday. The first round consisted of two 30-minute Zoom calls. One call focused on behavioral and technical questions, while the other was a mix of behavioral and case study questions. The Superday involved four 30-minute sessions that included both technical and behavioral questions. After the interviews, there was a background check and an offer was extended.
- In a DCF analysis, what effect does a higher tax rate have?
- What is the impact on Enterprise Value if debt is increased by 500 million?
Analyst
The interview process involved a Hirevue, a chat with the recruiter, and then the final round which was the AC. The AC was pretty intense, it had a presentation that I had to prep, a group exercise, and then two interviews with MDs. The last two interviews were tough and they threw some random questions at me. They gave me a week's notice for the AC.
