First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evercore Partners.
ServiceNow Administrator
It was a virtual interview over Teams, with 2 rounds. It was pretty straightforward based on the Job Description. The first round had good conversational questions, and the interviewer made me feel comfortable and explained the expectations for the role. The second round was with the Hiring manager, also a virtual round with easy conversational questions.
- How do you keep yourself organized when handling multiple projects?
- Describe a problem you faced in ServiceNow that was the most challenging and explain how you resolved it.
Investment Banking Associate
This is a standard investment banking interview. We'll ask you technical questions about M&A, LBO mechanics, Enterprise Value vs. Equity Value, valuation multiples, and accounting. There will also be behavioral questions about your past experience and how you handle work scenarios. The rest of the time will be general conversation to assess your fit.
- Why are you interested in Menlo Park?
- Why are you interested in Evercore?
Equity Research Analyst
I went through a 2-year equity research rotational program. I was surprised to even make it to the superday given I'm from a non-target school. The first round was a phone call, followed by what I think were 5 interviews in a row during the superday. Everyone I met was really nice, and I focused on my technical knowledge. It was a good experience, though it's always tough when you're up against people from target schools. I'm still grateful I got that far. They did reject me on Christmas, which wasn't great for their image, but I genuinely liked the people I spoke with.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in Evercore?
- What makes you prefer equity research to investment banking?
- What are your predictions for the market?
Investment Banking Analyst
Started with online tests and HireVue. Then had a phone call with a recruiter, where they asked technical and motivational questions. The interview was half technical and half motivational, covering why I'm interested in Investment Banking, why this specific firm, and why I'm a good fit.
- Could you please walk me through a Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) analysis?
- Can you explain Leveraged Buyout (LBO) walkthrough?
- Could you differentiate between an accretive and a dilutive merger?
