I had a preliminary chat with a recruiter. They actually set the interview for the very next day, which felt a bit off since usually they check availability first. The initial questions were pretty standard, but then I got a question where the recruiter cut me off mid-sentence. They wrongly assumed how much experience I had and changed their tone when I explained why I wasn't at my last job anymore. They decided right then that I wasn't a good fit and ended the interview abruptly, saying I'd hear back in about a month (which I doubt). The interviewer didn't show their face on video, even though I was told to show mine. This was really weird because professional recruiters usually show their faces out of politeness. Honestly, the recruiter lacked professionalism and didn't seem to grasp what the company actually does, given how they judged my experience. All in all, a terrible recruitment experience from a company that's supposed to be prestigious.

I got an email asking to interview the same day, which I don't think is good practice. It was unprofessional to email an applicant just 2-3 hours before wanting to interview them. I was busy so I had to reschedule. The interview had 3 parts: two virtual and one in-person. The first part was a 15-minute 'pre-screening' with basic questions. The second part was a more in-depth interview about job responsibilities. The last part was an in-person interview. The recruiter said they would call about the next steps a week after the interview and not to email them if I didn't get a call. I only did the 'pre-screening'. It was only 15 minutes. The interviewer cut me off on the first question because of time constraints. They also showed up late to our scheduled time. The interview was on Microsoft Teams.

It was a really nice and friendly interview process, with some basic questions about my abilities and skills. The first step was a 15-minute phone call with the recruiter. Then, the second step was a video interview with the laboratory manager.
