It was a really personable interview. We had a good in-depth chat about the role and expectations, especially since the site was undergoing redevelopment. I got a walk around to meet my future colleagues. I also interviewed with the client's HR management to see if I'd be a good cultural fit.

Behavioral Other

The manager really scrutinized my personality and eye contact, like I was being psychoanalyzed. They also emphasized how important it is to get along with a specific long-time employee who apparently makes life difficult for newcomers. The manager made it clear that customer service is the top priority. We chatted at a table in the cafeteria, and while the manager talked a lot about their own culinary background and experience, they didn't share much about the company itself. The pay offered was better than my current compensation.

I got a call from the company's headhunter first. We talked about my experience, my qualifications, and the role itself. She was really nice, asked a lot of questions, and gave me good info. We chatted about potential challenges with the job and how my background could help me deal with them. The call went for about 20 minutes, and she mentioned she'd forward my resume. The very next day, someone else called to follow up and give more details about the job. He said my resume would go to the hiring manager and I'd probably hear from her within the week. But, I never heard back after that.

Behavioral Technical

First, they asked me some basic questions about my experience. Then we discussed the location and client, mostly about the account and expectations. I met with the District Manager and the district chef. After that, I spoke with someone I think was an RVP over the phone. They asked me more situational questions like what I would do in a specific situation or to share an instance of handling a customer complaint.

  • Can you share an experience of dealing with a difficult client?
