The interview process for this Manager role was quite lengthy, spanning 7 interviews across 3 rounds and taking a total of 3 months. It kicked off with a recruiter call, followed by a hiring manager interview, and then a series of 5 loop interviews. A significant issue was the prolonged silence and lack of communication from the recruiting team between rounds, with them often ignoring emails and questions. The company also provided no preparation for the interviews. Compared to previous experiences with tech companies, this process was marked by poor communication and a general lack of transparency from the recruiters and coordinators, despite the interviewers themselves being pleasant and communicative. This poor recruiting experience, coupled with a less-than-ideal offer, ultimately led to declining the offer. The reviewer noted that this slow and uncommunicative approach seems to be standard practice for the company, which they believe hinders talent acquisition.

The entire process was well-organized and professional. I liked that everyone I met was friendly and approachable, and the interviews felt very fair. I spoke with 5 people I might work with. They all asked about my past work, how I handle and solve problems, and my career aspirations. Overall, it was a welcoming and professional experience that gave me a good idea of the company culture and what the job entails.

The whole thing took over five weeks. I started with a recruiter chat, then talked to a team member. After that, I got a take-home assignment while they set up back-to-back in-person interviews with five people from different parts of the company. It was pretty tedious because every interviewer asked the same questions from a list, and they didn't seem interested in skills outside my direct past work. It seems like the company is going through a lot of changes, and people have mixed feelings about it. I felt like I'd be a small player in a big organization. A few days after the in-person interviews, I got an email asking for a call. I thought it was an offer because it was a call, but the recruiter said they decided to go with someone else. I wish they'd told me by email instead of a phone call, which usually means good news.
