Finance Manager
This interviewing process is a joke. They really try to make it seem like this is a big time job when you barely have to have graduated high school to get an F&I job. There's a total of five interviews and I made it through three of them thinking I had the job for sure. Well after almost six months of dealing with these people I nagged and nagged until they just told me no. It didn't seem like they had their act together and to be honest, if you want an F&I job, just go to your local dealership and apply. There's no reason so be placed in by a 3rd party company that may put you who knows where. Don't deal with these people.
- What are your life goals?
- What are your short-term and long-term personal and professional goals?
Finance Manager
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter. We had a first phone chat and then I took a personality test. A couple days later, I got scheduled for an in-person interview with a consultant. After that, the consultant set up an interview at the dealership with the finance director, GSM, and GM. I met with them and got an offer. It was mostly getting to know you and personality questions, and then we went over my work experience in detail.
- What makes you a better candidate than others?
- Can you provide an overview of your resume?
- Tell me about a time a previous work experience didn't work out.
Finance Manager
I applied online. The first interview was in person with 3 reps from Ethos. They asked me questions about myself and my career path. Next, I was given a take-home assignment related to Finding Garcia. After that, I had to write down my short and long-term goals for both the dealership and my personal life. I then met with the owner and one Ethos rep at the dealership. It seemed the owner was more interested in me working as a salesman rather than in finance, which differed from the job description. I suspected there wasn't actually a finance manager opening based on the owner's comments. The Ethos rep asked if I was prepared to work 16-hour days and mentioned that the first week as a finance manager would be very demanding. However, the owner and the Ethos rep seemed to be on different pages, which was a bit confusing. So, it would be best to directly ask "is there a finance manager position available" during the first interview to avoid any misunderstanding. It's been over two weeks and I haven't heard back, despite emailing my rep three times with no response. I wish they would at least provide an update.
- What motivates you to pursue a career as a Finance Manager?
