Got a call like 5 minutes after I applied. The recruiter told me about the job, the pay, and the benefits, and pretty much answered everything I asked. She set me up to meet the terminal manager later that week. The manager told me about the job, which was a bit different than the recruiter said, but that's not really surprising. He then talked about the workload and my hours. He asked about my trucking experience, and said they'd train me on anything I wasn't familiar with, especially doubles. It all sounded good, we shook hands, and he said he was looking forward to having me. Two weeks went by and I didn't hear anything, so I had to chase down the recruiter. The manager apparently denied my application, and didn't even send an email or give a reason, just told the recruiter 'Passed' after they pushed him, even though the interview seemed to go well. The recruiter and I were both confused. I have a clean background and only a few unemployment gaps in my record over ten years. No idea why. It felt unprofessional. Maybe it's for the best?
