The interview process was smooth and nice. The employer was very friendly and we chatted about my background. I received the offer at the end of the interview. It seems like a great company to work for.

Behavioral Presentation

The recruiter reached out to me. I liked her instantly and was impressed with the company. But then I had a Skype interview with two executives at the same time and maybe they already decided on a candidate before the interview; because immediately I didn’t feel they were engaged in the interview and I knew I wouldn’t like working for them. Not surprised I didn’t get the job. The recruiter reached out to me to keep me informed, which I appreciated her promptness and professionalism, I did not get a good vibe from the two executives and think it would have been a bad fit. But it seemed like a good company.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online for the Cosmetics Company Store and right away got invited to do a digital interview with Estee Lauder within 5 days. You log onto a site called HireVue and record video responses to questions they've set up. They said it would be less stressful than an interview, but I actually would have preferred a phone interview. You get about 30 seconds to think after seeing the question, then you have three minutes or so to record. There's a big clock and you're watching yourself answer. I found it more unnerving than a phone call or an interview where you're talking to someone who can respond. The next day, an HR rep called me with more screening questions, which felt like overkill since I'd just done 5 screening questions in the digital interview. They said I'd be contacted for the first of maybe 2 in-person interviews, but that never happened. I didn't bother following up because the hiring process seemed way too long and drawn out.
