First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Estée Lauder Companies.
Business Analyst
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. It started with a phone call with someone from talent acquisition. After that, there was a second video chat with both a talent acquisition person and the business manager. They were both really nice and didn't ask anything too difficult. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job because they felt I lacked leadership skills.
- Are you able to meet deadlines?
- What makes you interested in this position?
- Could you explain your reasons for leaving your last role?
Business Analyst
I applied for a Senior Business Analyst role at Estee Lauder in NYC twice, both times through an agency for 6-month contract positions. The first time in 2018, I had a phone interview where the hiring manager questioned my frequent short-term contracts, even though the role itself was also a 6-month contract. In 2019, I was invited for an in-person interview. During this interview, the interviewer, an Indian gentleman, immediately asked if I had children upon entering the conference room.
- I'm concerned about your resume having many contract roles. Can you tell me why you've had so many 6-month or short-term contracts?
- Do you have kids?
- What does Agile mean to you?
Systems Analyst
The place didn't have a front desk and nobody opened the door even though they saw me. Once inside, I had to find a small sofa to sit on. Then, I had to find the interviewer's phone number and call her (which was weird, I didn't have it) so she knew I was there. They also rescheduled the interviews because they were WFH on Friday, even though it was scheduled a week before? The interviewers had on a lot of makeup, like they worked in fashion. The whole thing felt unprofessional, both the people and the company. The interview questions were pretty easy, just general stuff.
- Tell me about your working experience.
