Administrative Assistant
I applied for an administrative job in 2023 and went through an HR screening, a typing test, and an interview, but didn't get the job. Fast forward two years, I applied for a different admin position at the same place. I had an HR screening and was rejected right away. During the screening, I asked about assisting people states away and was told that was wrong and basically implied I wasn't listening. I checked the job posting later and the info was there; they probably copied an ad from another office. Getting rejected at 8 PM on a Saturday was the cherry on top.
- In your supervisor's opinion, what is your greatest weakness?
Administrative
Don't apply directly on their website for a Redlands position, your resume will get lost. Go through a specific local staffing agency (S.....) instead. You'll have an initial interview, a lot of testing to show you're qualified, then many interviews with different managers. If you pass those, you go to "Corporate". If you can summarize all meaningful experiences since high school and don't wear scented products, you might get to the badge photo stage. Salary negotiation is pointless for administrative staff as they are considered overhead and don't generate revenue.

- Anything unusual when you got to "Corporate"?
Administrative Assistant
The interview was scheduled for an afternoon between 12 - 5 pm. I had to complete a test that took 1.5 hours before the interviews. Then, I met with 7 different people. They talked a lot about the company and their roles, but I had to prompt them to explain what they were looking for in an Admin. It felt like they were all the same, so I'm not sure if they were interested as there were no challenging questions. One thing I noticed is their strong emphasis on LinkedIn.
- Do I like potlucks?
