This place had a strange energy. There were 6 interview rounds and they seemed unsure about what they were looking for. It took ten weeks to get rejected. The first two rounds with the recruiter and hiring manager were smooth. Round three was a presentation to a panel of 8-10 people. I got positive feedback until one panelist aggressively questioned my qualifications and stated I was unqualified without a professional degree, which was unprofessional and a red flag. Surprisingly, I advanced to round four with the sales manager, which went well. Round five with the department director was very short; he asked one question and seemed ready to end the interview, likely having seen a qualification gap on my resume. The recruiter then informed me I wasn't moving forward due to a lack of direct experience with a specific client type. I'm not sure if that was the real reason, but if it was, why go through five rounds when it was clear from my resume? Conducting five rounds over ten weeks and rejecting me for something known upfront is a waste of time. While Esri might be a good experience for some, their recruiting and HR processes have significant issues and lack innovative thinking.

Had a web call for about 30-40 minutes with a junior recruiter. It was mainly about my background and if I had experience in GIS. They asked generic questions and didn't really focus on the actual job. It took 2 weeks to set up the call after I was referred internally and sent my resume.
