HR contacted me directly to set up an interview and asked me to apply online. I interviewed with the SOC Manager and a team lead. They asked over 20 technical questions, which I answered in detail. I was told they'd contact me the next week. I was confident I'd get to the second round, but after 10 days, they said they were proceeding with another candidate. I asked HR for feedback but was ghosted. It felt like a waste of time, especially since I turned down other employers in the GTA to focus on the KW area where I live. I've since accepted a great job with a salary above market rate, so I'm actually glad I didn't get hired there.

I had a screening call with the recruiter where they asked basic questions from a list. It felt like they weren't really listening to my answers, just going through the motions to check off the questions. I thought I did well since they were straightforward, but then I got an email saying I lacked fundamental knowledge, which was surprising. I wish they had checked my technical skills instead.

The initial prescreening was really pleasant and engaging. They seemed genuinely interested in understanding not just my technical abilities but also my soft skills. It's worth noting for anyone in Toronto that eSentire's office is in Guelph; mentioning this could show you've done your homework on the company.
