They flew me in and I stayed overnight. The interview was most of the day, with back-to-back people. We also had a group lunch at a restaurant. Most interviewers asked great questions about my past experience and what I know. They wanted specific examples of my work, where I did well, and where I didn't. As you know for this kind of role, actuarial exams are a big deal, so they asked about balancing work and priorities. One guy asked about my Excel macros and SAS programming since I had it on my resume. Then he gave me a quick test to write a SAS program, which I could do. He then asked about rating a specific line of business. My recent experience was in financial reporting and data analysis. I had notes from my pricing experience from five years ago in personal and commercial lines, in case they asked about pricing. The interviewer called it cheating and grabbed my notepad, throwing it out of reach. I think he expected me to remember everything perfectly.

I applied online via the university's career site and also talked to someone at a career fair. I had an initial interview on campus, which was mostly behavioral questions, but they did ask a couple of things about what I'm looking for in a company and a boss. The day after that, I was invited to their headquarters for six 30-minute interviews: one with HR, four with project managers, and one with a junior analyst. The questions were still mainly standard behavioral questions about teamwork.

First, there was an on-campus interview. Then, I was invited to Erie HQ for the second round. The second round included a 1-hour lunch with an Actuarial analyst, and after that, I had 6 interviews, each 30 minutes long, with the HR recruiter and 5 actuarial staff members.
