Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Equinor.
Procurement Specialist
It was a good group of people, but I wasn't selected because my skillset didn't fully align with the project's scope. They seemed like a good bunch and had a challenging project.
- Tell me about the hardest thing you've had to overcome.
Supply Chain Intern
The application was pretty simple. Filled out a few questions and uploaded my resume. The first part was a recorded video interview where I had to talk about why Equinor, a challenge I faced, why I wanted the job, and teamwork. After that, I had a virtual interview with the hiring manager.
- Tell me about a time you had to overcome a difficult situation.
- How do you align with our core values and demonstrate critical thinking?
- Could you provide some feedback at the end of this?
Procurement Specialist
I applied through my university's career center and they reached out within a week to set up an interview. It seems only a few people got selected because they were hiring for 20 spots on a first-come, first-served basis. I had actually gone to an info session for Statoil that same week. I was supposed to interview with two people, and one of them I had met at the info session. My interview was one of the last ones that day, but the hiring manager had already left for a presentation about an hour before my slot. I think it was a disadvantage because I only got to talk to one of the hiring managers, while others apparently met with both. It was pretty relaxed though, no tricky questions, just standard behavioral and situational stuff about my resume. The interviewer made me feel comfortable, and we chatted for about 30 minutes. I felt really good about it afterward and liked the company vibe. Sadly, I didn't get an offer because they only needed one person. The pay is high, the people are great, and the benefits are amazing.
- Tell me about a time you had to meet a deadline and how you accomplished it.
