Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epson America.
Product Manager
The recruiter interview was alright. They seemed nice and kind. It started with an introduction, then went into 5 behavioral questions and a mini-case study. They also asked about side projects and if I prepare a slide for every department.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you share about your side projects?
- Do you create a one-slide summary for each department?
Product Manager
It was a pretty standard process. Started with a phone call with the recruiter and the hiring manager. Then, I had an in-person interview where I met with different people from various divisions. Finally, we discussed the offer over email and phone. The whole thing took about 3-4 weeks.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- What are your skills?
- Describe your personality.
Product Manager
I saw a blind posting on Indeed and applied online. The recruiter reached out to chat about my background and current salary, then asked about my salary expectations (I was surprised they weren't offering more money given the increased responsibility). They then set up a phone interview with HR. About a week after that, the recruiter called back and said they wanted to fly me out for a full day of interviews. I ended up spending from 8:30 am to 7 pm there, doing six one-on-one interviews.
- Given a scenario where your product is becoming a commodity, what actions would you take?
- If your competitors were consistently able to offer lower prices than you, how would you handle that situation?
- What proportion of your budget do you think should be allocated to marketing?
