Project Manager
My interview experience started off really poorly with a major lack of professional accountability and no respect for my time. The main person I was talking to kept having scheduling issues and missed our first two meetings, which meant we had to reschedule multiple times because they were so unpunctual. It's worrying when a company's first impression is being unreliable and not respecting how much time and effort candidates put in. If they can't even manage basic scheduling or act professionally when they first reach out, it's a big red flag about how efficient and what the culture is like inside the company. I'd tell any serious professional that this kind of mess at the beginning is probably a preview of how the company's management works overall.
- Because of the lack of professional accountability and the multiple reschedules, I was unable to finish the initial interviews and screenings.
Human Resources
So this is my experience with recruiters of Epiroc last year for a vacancy in HR for the Nashik location. I was shortlisted for the last round which is eventually a make or break round with the plant head and global head. When I was told they will schedule the interview soon I waited for the update. But did not receive any update. I called the recruiter and followed up with them and got to know that the management team liked my profile since I had experiences of working with other big Swedish MNC’s though as per there D&I ratio they want a female candidate for this role. I was pretty much shocked with this feedback. First things first is if you want only a female candidate then in a job description you need to mention it (only female candidates ). Also I understand the D&I attribute and I feel it's an important aspect but only providing an opportunity to one specific gender is also not a sensible and fair policy. The selection must be done on merit and not on specific gender. I have worked with a Swedish MNC and there is a huge difference in the way D&I is managed as compared to Epiroc. Epiroc is blindly following only female specific strategy which is not fair. In a small town like Nashik opportunities should be equally distributed. I do not have anything against female candidates its just being strategic does not mean hire only female candidates. Merit, experience, skillset and similar company background are very much important.

Data Entry Clerk
The interview process begins with an HR screening, followed by a meeting with the Hiring Manager. After that, there are online psychometric tests. If you pass those, you'll be notified of the results, and then you'll undergo medical examinations. Successful completion of the medicals leads to an offer.

Senior Firmware Engineer
A recruiting agency reached out about a Senior Firmware Engineer role, even though I was targeting a mid-level position (around 5 years of experience). I decided to go for it and submitted a cover letter, followed by a challenging test task that took me over 35 hours to complete. I aimed to make it polished, sensible, and self-taught without external help. After discussing the project with the company's PM, I was invited for an in-person interview. I found the interview engaging and enjoyed the questions, but I realized my answers weren't quite at the senior level. My limitations were: 1. English is not my native language, which made understanding one interviewer difficult, requiring me to ask for clarification multiple times, feeling quite awkward. 2. After struggling with one question, I became nervous, which hindered my ability to articulate my thoughts and even led to forgetting words. 3. I didn't answer any of the physics questions correctly. Despite enjoying the interview, I anticipated rejection, knowing they hire for different levels. However, the feedback I received was unexpected. They accused me of cheating on the project, suggesting I relied on external help like AI, which was frustrating to hear out of the blue.
