I first spoke with a recruiter at a school career fair. Within a week, I got an email and then had a phone interview. After that, I had to do a personality test, a math test, and a programming skills assessment, all while on video chat to make sure I wasn't cheating. It wasn't specific to any language and took over 2.5 hours, which was longer than I expected. Then, they paid for me to fly to Madison for the interview day. It was a packed day with a tour, a case study, and a verbal assessment. I also gave a 10-minute presentation to some current employees. The last thing was a 30-minute interview with my HR rep.

Applied online, and surprisingly they asked for college transcripts after 15 years. Then, I had a phone chat where we talked about my experience, if I could relocate to Wisconsin, and salary. It was a chill conversation. A couple days later, I got an email for two online tests: one was a personality test, and the other was a tough, video-proctored exam that took 2-3 hours. It was hard then, but I think I overdid it. If you're good at math, you'll be fine. I'm not great with math, especially stressed, so I'm not optimistic. Got an email today saying they got my exams and I'll know in about two weeks.

So before they flew me out for an onsite, I had a phone interview that was pretty basic, just talking about my interests and going over my resume. Then there were some online assessments, like a personality test. Once I got the onsite, they handled all the travel and hotel stuff, and even took me out to dinner and gave me a tour of the city. On the actual interview day, I met with a bunch of people. Some were current employees in the role, some were HR, and others were from different departments so I could get a feel for the company. They also had me take more tests to check my math and programming skills.

I applied for the job online. A few days later, I got an email to schedule a phone interview. It lasted about 30 minutes. They asked me some basic behavior questions about how I knew Epic and why I wanted to be a software developer. Then, they gave me a technical question about a scenario with five buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and a pattern of presses like 2, 3, 1, 4, 5. The system has to remember this pattern, so if the user presses 2 next time, it should automatically suggest 3, 1, 4, 5. I was asked how I would implement this.
