Software Engineer
I got reached out to by their recruiter and set up a call. The interview went really well, and they said I was exactly what they were looking for and that I'd hear back within a week about the next steps. They even said if one role didn't work out, they had another for me. I was feeling really good about it. Then, nothing. Complete silence. Not even a rejection email. I followed up, and still no response. I checked, and the recruiter is still with the company and active on LinkedIn. It was super unprofessional, and I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here.

Software Engineer
I'm sharing my hiring experience with Epic Games, which was pretty disappointing. It started in June 2024 when I applied for a software engineer position. I went through multiple technical interviews and the team seemed to like my performance. But then, they didn't extend an offer with minimal explanation. Later that year, they contacted me again for the same role. We had more talks, and they discussed relocation, visa sponsorship, and salary. It really seemed like an offer was imminent, as we talked details about pay, benefits, and even a start date. But then, out of the blue, I was told the leadership decided not to move forward because my profile wasn't a good fit. This was crazy since I'd already passed all the interviews and got good feedback. It felt like people who never met me made a decision against the team's assessment. Epic Games built up my hopes just to dash them at the very end, after a lot of effort from both sides.
- What is your motivation for applying to Epic Games?
- Can you tell me about a project or initiative you took the lead on previously?
Software Engineer
I applied through LinkedIn. First, there was a 30-minute call with HR. Then, I had a video chat with two engineers from the team. After that, I was given a take-home coding test. This test had two programming questions, one design question, and one puzzle question. They got back to me a couple of weeks later, and then I had an all-day on-site interview. Each session was 45 minutes with two interviewers. Lunch was basically part of the interview too. Two of the sessions involved whiteboard coding and design tests, which felt fair and not hostile. I got the offer three days after the on-site.
- Do you know how to navigate arrays?
