Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Epic Games.
Senior Social Media Manager
The whole thing took about 2 months and involved several phone screens and panel interviews. I got a verbal offer, but then two weeks later, they cancelled the role and rescinded the offer. I had already turned down another job because of this opportunity.
- Can you describe a time you encountered problems or errors on social media platforms and detail the steps you took to resolve them?
Community Manager
I applied online, then had a quick phone call for some background info. After that, I was invited for an in-person interview in Cary, NC, and I ended up getting the job.
- Tell me about your experience working in communities.
Community Manager
It took a few months. I first had a phone screen, but they didn't think I was a fit initially. Then, months later, they emailed to set up another phone screen, followed by a video interview, and then an in-person interview at Epic. Everyone was really nice and welcoming. I met with people from different departments, and some interviews were in person while others were with remote folks via Google Hangouts in the office. I didn't get an offer because I didn't know enough about a specific product they have. But, I still have a good relationship with the recruiter and everyone else I met. I'd apply again if things change or a new job I like opens up. The studio is very welcoming and made setting up my travel for the on-site easy. The recruiter picked me up from the hotel and we had a nice, quick drive to the studio, with lots of casual chat along the way.

- Have you ever built a community from scratch before?
