Sales Representative
A recruiter contacted me about an inbound sales job, and after that, I had a phone screen with the hiring manager. It went well, and they actually ended up moving me forward for the outbound role instead. Then, I had a take-home assignment where I had to pick a potential client company and explain why it would be a good fit. After passing that, I went in for an in-person interview. I started with lunch with the SDR team, then had one-on-ones with the hiring manager, an Account Executive, and the Director of Sales. I sent thank you notes to the three interviewers on LinkedIn. Four days later, my recruiter let me know they liked me but went with someone with more experience who was a referral. They did mention they'd consider me for an inbound role, and more openings were expected soon. Two weeks later, the hiring manager posted about more openings, including inbound ones. I reached out to her about it, but never heard back, which I found unprofessional.
- Tell me about what you know about our company and why you want to work here.
- Given that this role involves a lot of rejection, requiring creativity, what are some creative methods you would use to reach out to potential clients?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
Sales
The interview process was quick and also thorough. I met people from different teams, and I learned how to move forward to the next stage. Everyone was nice and approachable. People at the company have interesting hobbies and passions they like to share. It seems like folks here are balanced with their work projects and their outside hobbies. And yes, there were dogs in the office!
- Could you describe your approach to organizing and prioritizing your daily tasks?
Sales
It started with a recruiter call, and then went straight to an executive level screening with the CRO. After that, it would have been a panel interview. The CRO did most of the talking, and I got to jump in about a third of the time. The company seemed to be having some issues with so many companies going fully remote.
- What is your motivation for working in sales?
