The interview process started off weirdly, like they thanked me for a call that didn't even happen. Then, the interviews kept getting pushed back, even after they were scheduled days ahead. I made it all the way to the final round and everything felt really good, but I didn't get the job. I asked for some feedback afterward but got ghosted. It's pretty rough that a two-month process ends with being ignored when I asked for insights.

I got an invite for a phone interview from a senior technical recruiter. On the day, my previous meeting went long, so I emailed to see if we could push the interview back by 30 minutes. I didn't get a reply, so I sent another email saying we could still do the original time, but still no response. Later, I was ghosted, and the recruiter's follow-up email falsely stated I had proposed a "reschedule," which I hadn't. The hiring process was super disrespectful, both in the recruiter's tone and how they handled things. Because of this, I can't recommend this company.

I got an email from their recruiter, and we chatted on the phone. She was nice and told me about Envoy and their vision before asking about me, which was great. After that, things moved quickly: a quick portfolio review (45 mins on Google Hangouts) with a senior designer where they checked my product thinking and visual design skills. Then, I had coffee with the design manager who was really passionate about the product, which made me excited and think about if it was a good fit. The next step was the onsite interview, which had five 45-minute sessions with designers and PMs. They asked fair questions and seemed genuinely interested. One session involved a light 'product thinking' exercise about how I'd tackle a design problem, which was nice compared to the heavy homework some companies give. I was surprised they focused on making a human connection and discussing problems. I came back later for a final interview with the CEO, which was also very direct. I asked him some tough questions about diversity and the gender pay gap, and he was responsive, humble, and approachable, giving me good vibes about joining.
