Software Engineer
Envoy's recruiter called me directly, and I had a technical interview the same week. It was pretty straightforward, covering OOP, design patterns, some coding, and SQL. I got positive feedback, and the recruiter asked for my documents before discussing salary. The following week, I followed up, and they said they were checking HR availability and would get back to me. After two days of no contact, I reached out again, and they told me they were putting my profile on hold because my salary expectations were too high, even though they were okay with them earlier. Honestly, don't bother applying; they seem unsure about their process.
- Can you explain the Solid Principles with examples?
- Write a program for String manipulation.
- How would you optimize an API?

I applied back in July 2020 in Chicago, IL. HR called me within a week and was super helpful, explaining the whole process clearly. My application moved fast, and within another week, I got invited for a 30-minute technical discussion with the Engineering Manager. During that call, we went over my resume, and I was asked some basic questions on c#, databases, and OOPS. We also chatted about programming in general, past challenges I'd faced, and testing. He mentioned they were looking for someone with 10-12 years of experience, which was a bit different from the 5-6 years stated in the job description that made me apply. Overall, it was a good experience, and the Engineering Manager had a great personality.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- Do you have experience with C#?
- What are your thoughts on databases?
Software Engineer
This was a bad interview experience, felt like they were wasting time as there were no actual openings. The manager also seemed to have no work, which is why they were interviewing. I went through 3 technical rounds, all with positive feedback. The HR asked me to visit the office for a 20-minute manager and HR round. The HR mentioned it would just be a discussion, no more technical rounds. However, when I visited, they conducted another 45-minute technical round, again with positive feedback. The HR then said they would send an offer within a week and asked for documents. They promised to email about the required documents but never did. When I called to follow up about the offer, they said the position was put on hold for unknown reasons. Overall, it felt like they were just wasting time and didn't have a real opening for this role. I suggest focusing on other companies as this one doesn't seem to have any requirements.
- Questions about OPPS, C#, SOLID PRINCIPLE, and DESIGN PATTERN were asked.
