First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Envirosolar Power.
Sales Representative
It was a group interview, pretty easy and straightforward. We joined a Zoom call where they asked us all some questions and gave us an overview of the company and what to expect. Candidates who were engaged and gave strong answers really stood out. You could easily tell who was genuinely interested versus just casually looking. My advice is to ignore everyone else and just be yourself! They're looking for reps with personality and skills!
- What are the essential skills for a successful outside sales representative?
Sales Consultant
The interview process was really informative and detailed. The RSM and Recruiters gave me a lot of information during the interviews. Week 1 was all about memorizing solar facts and scripts. Week 2 focused on how to create estimates and close deals using the 'smart close' method, which includes credibility, financing, and so on. Week 3 involved ride-alongs and meeting the local/market team. They expect you to pass the tests for the first two weeks, and Week 3 seemed to be the 'trial' week.
- What sparked your interest in the solar industry?
Sales Director
Scheduled a time with "senior" staff David who did not pick up. Then called me back. At first interview was OK, but then he mentioned breaking into sales in a certain area he didn't know about and selling overly expensive panels. I tried to discuss that the particular area generally does not have individual owners, but other surrounding areas have potential. All of a sudden he hung up on me. I called back and left message and didn't hear back.
- Are you willing to travel for sales?
- What aspects of this role appealed to you?
Operations Manager
I got contacted by HR for a phone chat, and they seemed really keen on my background and thought I'd be a good match. We were talking about setting up an in-person interview with a manager when my baby started crying. She had to jump off the call but said she'd check with the manager about their availability. I never heard back, but I did get an email saying they were going with someone else. It was a bummer because I love a good challenge and the role was almost perfect for my experience. I'm disappointed because, even though we were discussing scheduling an in-person meeting, I think my baby crying might have hurt my chances with a company that seems to have a great culture and is at the forefront of cool tech. I'll definitely keep an eye on their openings for similar roles as I look for a new place to advance my career.
- What is your leadership capability across different roles?
