Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Enphase Energy.
Staff Engineer
It was a multi-part interview process. There were two rounds focused on technical skills and management capabilities, plus one round with HR. The interviews heavily emphasized the technical aspects mentioned in my resume and also explored my potential fit for the role, as well as how my past experiences could be beneficial.
- What is your motivation for transitioning to Enphase?
Staff Software Engineer
It was almost 4 rounds, 1st round with the project manager, 2nd technical, 3rd design, and 4th round VP round. I cleared 3 rounds and in the VP round, my experience was very very bad. At this level I expected more discussion on the business road map, but it was not. He did not even introduce himself or let me introduce myself, he just logged in with poor network and asked me to log in after 10 mins, and after 10 mins, he logged in and started asking about my projects and that's it, he finished the call, it was hardly 5-7 mins. I feel they don't know the interview process, if their criteria is about the projects, they could have checked my projects prior to making other rounds. Having 10+ years of experience, it is hard to decide anyone by projects. I feel that is not a way of doing candidate selection. I do not recommend.
- Can you tell me about your past projects?
Senior Staff Engineer
The interview process was quite extensive, spanning 3 months from start to offer. It included a telephonic round, two F2F technical rounds, a VP round, an HR round, a Skype architect round, a coding exam, and a CEO round. After the CEO round, I had to wait for 3 weeks to receive the offer, despite being told I was selected. The technical rounds were challenging, while the coding round was average. The other rounds focused on my current role and soft skills.
- Can you explain the sliding window technique?
- Describe the differences and use cases for processes, threads, DMA, and message switches.
- Let's discuss binary trees.
