First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Enova.
Strategy and Operations Associate
I wish I had good things to say about interviewing at Enova, but I was really unhappy with how it went. My first interview was a phone call with a Senior Recruiter, and it went fine, but I was surprised it included a case study right away. I had practiced case studies beforehand, so I was okay, but still surprised. I got to the second round with the hiring manager, and they said this interview would be about my work behavior and skills for the job. They also said it would give me plenty of time to ask detailed questions about the role and department. The interview started about six minutes late because the hiring manager was tardy. He didn't seem interested in my background but instead used the time to go over a second case study. I have to point out that neither interview mentioned a case study beforehand, so I was shocked again. The hiring manager asked questions really specific to their business instead of asking things that would show problem-solving skills. He gave me about five minutes to ask questions and didn't offer much clarity on the company's culture and values. The interview ended, and I was glad to be done with him. If I had moved on to the next rounds in person, I would have turned them down because I couldn't work with someone who didn't seem to care about getting to know the candidates. From what I've read in other interview reviews, this is likely the same person.
- How would you assess the potential profitability for Enova of acquiring company X?
Strategy and Operations Associate
The job description was super unclear. First interview, they mentioned 3 totally different roles and I told them which one I liked. They then sent me to Pangea, a company they own. This was unexpected since Pangea is small (under 100 employees) and the job I applied for suggested a much larger company (1000-5000 employees). They also said it was an Associate role when it was advertised as Sr. Associate. The whole process had 4 rounds and moved fast. I missed an interview with the hiring manager because the recruiter sent us different meeting links. I got an Excel test to do at home in 48 hours, which I reviewed with the hiring manager in the final round. The test was fine, not too hard. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week after the final round. A week later, I followed up and got a one-sentence rejection. I then asked about the other roles and got rejected right away. Most people were nice, but there were several unprofessional moments.
- Could you complete an assessment related to marketing promotional spending?
Strategy and Operations Analyst
I had an on-campus interview the day after the career fair. It was a 30-minute interview with about 15 minutes of behavioral questions, followed by a mini case. The case wasn't too hard, but I'd suggest being structured when you approach it, kind of like a management consulting interview to show you can think logically.
