& Process

I applied online and then got a request for a phone interview the next day. The first phone interview was with HR, where we talked about my academics, professional experience, and my ratings on QA Automation, Selenium, SQL, and Unix. She also gave me a quick rundown of the job. The second phone interview was with the QA Manager, focusing on my interest in Enova and my background. Then I had an onsite interview which was quite long, about 4 hours. It consisted of 5 rounds. Round 1 was with the QA team, covering basic testing concepts, automation, test management, defect management, requirement management, and puzzles. Round 2 was a pure technical round with the QA team, evaluating my skills in QTP, Selenium, and other open-source automation tools. Round 3 was another technical round with the QA team, focusing on Selenium Grid and R&D. Round 4, also with the QA team, evaluated my knowledge of Unix, SQL, Regular expressions, and RDBMS. Round 5 was with the QA Director, who was the same person from the second phone interview. We had lunch, and it was more of a behavioral chat with no technical questions. I got the offer the same day, April 15th, 2013. It was super fast.

I had a really good time interviewing for this internship. After applying online through my school's career site, I had four interviews pretty quickly. The first one was a resume walkthrough and some behavioral stuff. The next two were more about my technical and analytical skills. About a week later, I got invited for an onsite interview. The company set up my travel and accommodation, which was great and made me feel ready for the interview the next day. The onsite lasted over 3 hours, but it didn't feel long because the interviewers were friendly and really involved. It was cool that they came from different backgrounds, which is how they build their diverse analytics team. They focused on what I could do and were happy to share their thoughts on the problems they gave me. They also did a good job explaining their group's work, which I found really interesting. No boring, standard questions here. After that, I was told I got an offer. I was really happy, and even happier when Enova sent me some gifts soon after. It's also worth noting that I always got quick and helpful responses from the company by phone and email. Even though I had to turn down the offer because of a family matter, HR was really understanding and nice about it. The positive interactions with Enova's staff are why I wanted to share my experience. Bottom line: If you like using numbers to improve business or financial results, especially in credit or financial analysis, I'd recommend Enova.

I think it's really important to prepare based on the job description.
