Data Scientist
Chat with HR and a technical lead: HR read a script very fast, the technical lead didn't seem to know why they were there. Overall, not a good experience, they hesitated when I asked more specific questions, probably because they didn't have answers. Probably the most shocking answer was 'we're looking for someone proactive' when I asked about the onboarding process for a junior and team integration.
- Tell me about your motivations for applying and your expectations for this position.
- What are your expectations and concerns about this role?
Data Scientist
The whole process took about 4-5 weeks. First, I had an interview with the team, which was pretty technical, covering models and stuff. Then there was an interview with HR about my motivation, and an aptitude test which was like a normal IQ test. Finally, I interviewed with a bunch of business unit leads, mostly asking about my knowledge of energy markets.
- What's your take on where the energy market is headed?
- Can you describe a recent challenge you encountered and how you managed to overcome it?
- What specific data would you leverage to forecast intraday prices?
Data Scientist Intern
The interview process started with a presentation of the internship. Then, there was a quick brain teaser involving dice, focusing on expectation and the probability of winning a specific game. Finally, I submitted a project I had completed for school to assess my coding abilities.
- What is the expectation of a dice?
- What is the probability of winning a dice game?
