First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EngagedMD.
Product Manager
It started with an HR screen, which was pretty easy. Then I had a hiring manager interview that also involved a case study, that was okay. After that, I had a 1:1 with an executive, someone from product and someone from engineering, where they asked about prior products I had worked on. The last part was a panel interview, which was also okay. It was nice to meet the team I'd be working with on product and also meet the engineering leadership.
- Tell me about your past product experience.
- Can you describe your experience working in teams and provide a case study or hypothetical scenario?
- Tell me about the specific products you have worked on.
Software Engineer
It was a bizarre interview process with several stages. First, there was a recruiter call. Then, a quick 15-minute Zoom call with multiple developers, which was unexpected since I was told it would be with one person. It felt like not enough time to get through questions with so many people on the call. They asked things like "what is your ideal next work place", not technical questions. Next, a full-stack take-home test was given using their tech stack. It was a fairly simple app with minimal requirements, so it was good that it was short. After that, there was a 45-minute review of the take-home test. Finally, a panel interview took place, but I withdrew from the process due to the low salary offered.
- What kind of work environment do you prefer?
Sales Executive
This was an outstanding interview process, one of the best I've seen at both big public companies and small startups. They really have it together! Even if I hadn't gotten the job, I would have written this positive review because companies like this deserve recognition. The process started with an initial call with the Head of People, followed by an intro call with my direct report. Then, I did a mock discovery call with a sales executive, had a conversation with the Co-Founder, and finally, a culture fit discussion with three other team members. Since I mentioned I was interviewing elsewhere, they smartly sped things up, doing the last three interviews back-to-back. They were also super quick to provide feedback and next steps after each interview, keeping me totally in the loop. They clearly value finding people who are a good culture fit and respect that we have lives outside of work, which they show through their benefits and perks.
- Can you share an instance where you felt a sale should have been yours but wasn't?
- Describe a situation where you were proud of a sale you closed.
- What are your career aspirations for your next position?
Account Manager
I don't think I've ever had an interview where the recruiter seemed so disengaged. It felt like they were just going through the motions. At the start, they spent too much time talking about the company, which I felt could have been shorter since I assume people research the company beforehand. It was very obvious they were reading from a script, sounding like a robot with a fake smile. There was no real connection, and the questions they asked me weren't specific to the position, but more general. It was a disappointing interview overall, especially when they showed no real interest when I asked why they took the job. They totally came across as 'you're just one more person on my list I have to talk to.' Not a good first impression of EngagedMD.
- Can you describe a situation where you collaborated with another department to fulfill a customer's needs?
