Had a standard screening call with the recruiter first. Asked general questions and talked salary. Recruiter mentioned it was a new role and they didn't have many details yet about timing, the hiring process, or role expectations, suggesting I ask the hiring manager about these things. The second interview was with the hiring manager. They were a few minutes late, seemed distracted and annoyed throughout, and ended the call a minute early before I could ask my questions because someone else needed the conference room. Throughout the call, the hiring manager repeatedly asked me what the recruiter had told me and what questions I had asked her and what her responses were. It was weird. Ultimately, I didn't get the impression they were engaged or paying attention.

Presentation Technical Behavioral

The interview process at EnergyHub is thorough, involving a written or presentation exercise and several interview rounds. Everyone I met was kind, respectful, and engaged, making it feel personable and laid-back. However, candidates should expect to invest significant time over several weeks. Despite positive signals, I received a rejection via email after a long silence and follow-ups, making the experience feel neutral-negative due to two main issues: 1. Communication Gaps: While the recruiter seemed competent and friendly, I often had to chase updates. Promises to hear back by a certain date were missed, including after the final interview. After multiple follow-ups, I got a rejection nearly three weeks later, which felt dismissive for a finalist. Timely, transparent communication would have helped, even with the same outcome. 2. Disorganized Panel Interviews: A prior writing exercise was never referenced. The interviews felt loosely structured with varied, sometimes redundant or mismatched questions. Some interviewers seemed under-prepared, making it hard to know what to expect or tailor responses. A highlight was a great conversation with my potential closest team member. Overall, EnergyHub seems like a great place to work. The investment felt disproportionate to the outcome, typical for competitive tech companies. Be prepared for a long process without guaranteed offers, even with strong signals. My advice: have realistic expectations, advocate for yourself when communication stalls, and don't take a delayed rejection personally. EnergyHub could improve the candidate experience, especially in final stages where communication and organization are key.

I applied for the role online and it took about 9 weeks to complete. The process included a phone screen, first round, a task, a second round with a task presentation, a third round with a tour, and a fourth round with stakeholders from the parent company. As other candidates have noted, communication from the hiring team was inconsistent, with long waits between interviews and follow-ups. Even though initial interactions were positive, they seemed to struggle with making decisions quickly, and the process kept changing. This lack of professionalism and decisiveness doesn't look good for their internal operations.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a 3 interview session, with the final interview being in person (remote option exist as well) with multiple interviews with different teams. First interview recruiter qualifies you, second interview the director qualifies you. Lastly, you interview the team, 1 that works with you and one you would report to, 2 teams - first the customer success then the paid media team. Then you’ll be interviewed by the director again, who deeply questions you and goes through your resume.
