Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Energy BBDO.
Account Supervisor
The process was straightforward. However, I must say that if there are internal candidates interested in the role or up for a promotion, it's best not to schedule interviews with external candidates, as it's a waste of their time when you already know the outcome. I'm happy they're promoting from within, but it's important to make that decision before starting the interview process with outside applicants.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What is motivating your search for new opportunities?
Account Manager
I met the recruiter at an event and we chatted a few more times. A few months later, she contacted me in March about a Summer Internship and I said yes. They gave me a week to decide. The internship was good overall, but my supervisor was too busy to mentor me, which made my project harder. Energy BBDO gives interns a summer project, and the interns are split in half to compete against each other. I think that really made us think and work. Good people and a fun place!
- What makes you stand out from other applicants?
Account Manager
It was just a preliminary phone call with a recruiting manager to check my skills and see if I was interested. She was super nice and gave me a lot of useful info about the internship program, like pay, how many spots they had, and hours.
- Can you give me an example of an advertisement you've recently encountered, either positive or negative, and explain why you believe it was successful or unsuccessful?
