First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Enercon.
Engineer
Had a friendly chat with HR and the department head. HR asked standard questions about my background, motivation, etc. The technical questions from the department were focused on my experience and career path but also went into technical details.
- Basic knowledge regarding wind turbines was touched upon in many questions.
Project Engineer
After applying, I was invited for an interview in Aurich two weeks later. Since the travel was long, they offered to pay for my hotel stay and travel expenses. However, upon arrival in Aurich, I was informed that the invitation was incorrect and my interviewers were in Bremen. I ended up having a one-hour Skype call with a recruiter and the team lead. The discussion mainly focused on my resume and the job description. This was it. I traveled for two days and covered 1200 km for this. When I asked if I could meet the team in Bremen in person, they suggested I could visit Bremen privately. I was told I'd be hired after this first interview, with no second round. I was asked to be patient for feedback. At the end of October (four months after the interview), I received an automated rejection, likely due to data deletion policies. I had to chase them for six months for reimbursement of my travel and hotel costs. They were unresponsive to my calls and emails, or gave delaying responses. Only when I threatened legal action did they finally process my reimbursement. I cannot recommend this company for interviews. It was a huge letdown for me.
- Could you briefly tell us about yourself?
- Could you explain why you pursued xy?
- What are your expectations for this role?
Project Engineer
I prepared for the worst due to many online reviews. The interview was quite pleasant except for a few questions. The guy in jeans from the department was quite quiet. The HR person was very open. The process was a bit strange because they first focused on me before saying anything about the position (the job posting was very general). They didn't discuss the working conditions at all. They said they would call within 2 weeks. I was very confident. Then on a Friday afternoon!! A rejection by email without giving any reasons.
- Can you introduce yourself, with some very specific questions about certain parts?
- What other companies are you applying to?
- How many applications have you sent out?
