Software Engineer
So I had a pretty terrible interview experience. It started with a recruiter call, which then led to a phone screen. The phone screen was delayed by 2 hours on their end, and when it finally happened, their side had a really bad echo. They tried to blame me, even though I had spoken with the recruiter fine before and after and even used a landline. After 10 minutes of trying to fix it, we gave up. A week later, the recruiter emailed me saying they were doing an 'audit' and wanted me to come in for an in-person interview instead. When I got there, the boss didn't even introduce himself formally. He just told me to sit next to another developer, set up a laptop, and told me to work on a console application. The task was to write a console app that reads from their API, parses XML, and reads/writes to their database. He told me to 'just google it' if I had questions. He also brought up the phone issue again, which was pretty awkward. The worst part? He had me label a SQL insert parameter as 'test' while I was working ON THEIR PRODUCTION DATABASE LIVE. I was basically left alone for an hour next to another dev who was doing his own thing. When I asked him questions, he just said he uses Stack Overflow and that coding is mostly copy-pasting. He confirmed this task wasn't part of his usual work. I ran into a 500 error when calling their API, which is a server error, indicating their API was faulty. I told the boss, and he just said 'I just want it to work' and left me to it. After about an hour, he stopped the project and brought in another dev who asked me a random question about XML injection. So, the 'team' was the boss, the dev next to me, and this other dev, in an office full of salespeople. He then told me the role was '100% development' with no QA, no code reviews, basically no structure. This was hands down the worst interview experience ever. If you're a software engineer looking for a job, look elsewhere. This company and its manager are clueless.

Receptionist
I applied for the job on indeed.com and got an email the same day asking me to take an assessment test. After I finished the test, a recruiter called me to schedule an interview for the next business day. I was really impressed with the office and how happy everyone seemed. The recruiter was nice and made me feel relaxed during the interview. They asked me questions about my previous experience and some general behavioral questions. I got a tour of the office, saw the activity room, pool table, putting green, lots of different snacks (employees get $10 weekly credit), an on-site daycare, a gym, and many other perks for employees. It seems like a fantastic place to work.

Inside Sales
I applied online and got a call back in a couple days to come in for an interview. I thought the person I spoke to on the phone was the interviewer, but nope! I also had to have my resume ready to skip over most of the application they hand out when you arrive. I showed up for the interview and it turned out to be a group of 10 of us being interviewed in the bar downstairs. The interviewer, who I think was the CEO, was rude and seemed to talk down to or laugh at all of us, no matter our experience or personality. He actually said he wasn't looking to hire anyone, so it felt like a complete waste of time for everyone.
