It was a pretty easy interview with the two lab managers. They asked me about my resume, my strengths and weaknesses, and some situational questions about how I would handle stressful events. The whole thing was about 2 hours. They mainly wanted to see if I was enthusiastic about the job, eager to learn, dependable, and knew my way around a lab (school experience is fine). No tricky questions about specific lab techniques.

I applied online and was initially declined as the position was filled. After a few months, HR contacted me about a new project and asked if I was still interested. I confirmed my interest. Shortly after, an HR representative conducted a brief phone interview and indicated they would pass my details to the hiring manager. The next day, the hiring manager called to schedule a face-to-face interview. The interview itself wasn't difficult; I met with the lab director and two HR representatives. They asked about my background and my interest in the company and the position.

I had a 30-minute phone chat where they asked standard interview questions, going over my resume and past work. It was a pleasant call. Then, a few days later, I had an in-person interview that also went well. The lab manager was nice and welcoming, and the questions weren't tough, pretty much the same as the phone interview.
