Manager
The interview process was quite long and involved a variety of questions covering team management, my vision, past projects, data experience, thoughts on big data, and conflict resolution. Initially, I spoke with the director of analytics and BI. Then, I had a phone screening with the partner onshore and two managers. Following that, I met again with the director and the regional head. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable about the process and asked relevant questions. The HR team was also very responsive and efficient throughout.
- Could you tell me about your management style and how you handle conflicts?
- Tell me about your management style and how you approach conflict resolution.
Manager
It started with a phone call from a recruiter who was quite pleasant and really praised the department director. However, my interview with the director was terrible! He was really arrogant about his work and kept comparing the job to saving lives. He also told me I'd have to work overtime and would end the interview right there if I wasn't okay with it. Even though I knew OT would be required and was fine with it, his condescending tone and phrasing were off-putting. He also asked about the books I was reading and sort of laughed at my choices, which were varied but not business-focused. The whole thing gave me a bad feeling, and I decided I didn't want to work there with people like that. I withdrew my application at that point.
- What books are you currently reading?
- What are your preferred sources for news: online, print, or apps?
- What information do you have about Great-West?
Senior Manager
First round was with HR, who talked about the company culture and why this role was open. They also gave details about the team, including its size, what it does, and how the business is growing. The culture seemed positive and like a place I'd want to work.
- What are your long-term career goals?
