Customer Service Representative
The interview process had two main parts. First, I connected with Todd, who was really upfront about what to expect, which was refreshing. They were super open, so if you have questions, just ask. They check in at every step to see how you're feeling, what your concerns are, and if you really want to move forward. No pressure, just lots of encouragement. The initial stage involved a quick critical thinking assessment on an iPad, plus some light paperwork – nothing too intense. Then came a group interview with about 10 people. It felt a bit daunting, but then the owner, Mark, came in. His energy made everyone comfortable instantly. Each person answered a couple of questions, and we did a sample script exercise to test our phone skills. It was designed to be low-stress. Mark also handled group questions, so we all benefited from everyone's curiosity. You can believe what he says, even the seemingly amazing stuff. He mentioned they don't push loans you wouldn't offer your own mother, and that principle is visible in the office. The second interview was a one-on-three with Mark and two others. They asked straightforward questions about the experience you bring, your five-year goals, and why you want to work there. Again, they made sure we had plenty of chances to ask questions and left with all the info we needed. There was another assessment and a personality test, which is pretty standard these days. It's similar to what you need for jobs like in restaurants now, so don't let it be a deal-breaker. A few days later, I got the good news. Honestly, if you're genuine, put real thought into your answers and questions, and match their vibe, you'll do great. It felt like they hired based on the person, not just the resume. You're treated as an individual throughout. Make the most of your time with your interviewers; you'll see them daily, and there's a strong team feel. Just relax and be yourself.

Todd and Erica, the recruiters, are very pleasant and walked me through the entire process each step of the way. The interviews themselves are held in three rounds. They aren't easy, but they also aren't extremely difficult as long as you're confident in who you are. I fell in love with the place instantly when I got there for my first interview. The staff is extremely friendly, I even had a couple people ask me if I needed anything before I went in. Mark, the CEO, runs the job down from top to bottom. There isn't a question he won't answer in terms of what he expects from you this position. All in all, Fortren does an awesome job of telling you about them while learning about you. Their interview is perhaps the most innovative and thorough process I've ever gone through.
- Can you describe yourself in three words, avoiding common descriptors like "Hardworking" or "Detailed oriented"?

It was a group interview where we all had to answer the same questions and then read our answers out loud. Then, there was a more personal second interview with the typical interview questions.
- What movie have you seen the most?
