First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EMERITUS.
Associate Director
It started with an HR call where they explained the company and the role, lasting about 30 minutes. They asked about my education and work history. Then, I was told I'd be a good fit and the next steps involved an assignment and two interviews. The HR sent over the assignment, and we had a call to discuss it. She emphasized the need for an 'outstanding' assignment to get selected, and I had a week to complete it. I found out it was a real problem Emeritus was facing. The HR checked in frequently for updates. I did a deep dive analysis and submitted it on time. After submission, the interview was scheduled, and I was told again that the assignment was well-received and I should do well in the interview. This interview lasted over an hour and went fine. They asked about my experience and the assignment. The interviewer mentioned the case study was a critical issue for the company and my suggestions were valuable. The next step was a final interview with the HOD. I waited for a call from HR, but there was silence. I had to reach out multiple times to get a response. The same HR who was initially very proactive started ignoring my messages. Eventually, she responded saying they hired someone else. I felt this might have been a ghost job to get free ideas for a program launch with high CAC. Also, the HR could have been more professional with updates and feedback, respecting my time and effort. If you're experienced and applying to Emeritus, be aware of this and maybe ask if it's a real job opening.

Solutions Design Manager
An HR rep from the company reached out on LinkedIn about a job. We had a 30-min chat about the role, my experience, and pay. It was a chill intro to the company and job, and for them to get to know me. After that, HR set up an interview with the Solutions Design team lead. This interview was kinda rough. The lead was late and said she almost forgot about it, which felt unprofessional since I was on time. She seemed uninterested and distracted during our talk. At the end, she brought up my lack of sales experience, even though HR said the job was more about design learning. She said they'd talk more and let HR know their decision. I never heard back after that. The whole thing felt a bit all over the place and not super professional.
- What are your responsibilities in your current position?
- Can you describe any experience you have creating training materials for partner organizations?
- Have you authored any sales-related reports?
Creative Manager
I interviewed for a position at Emeritus that seemed like a perfect fit for my skills and offered the opportunity to work from home. The interview process included three rounds, one of which was a test. While the interview itself was well-structured and aligned with the role's requirements, the follow-up process was disappointing. After completing all the interview rounds, I followed up with the HR representative via email and WhatsApp a week later to inquire about the status of my application. Unfortunately, I did not receive any response. I eventually learned through a LinkedIn connection that I was not selected for the position. I believe it is the responsibility of HR to communicate the outcome of the interview process to candidates in a timely and professional manner. Additionally, providing feedback on what went wrong and areas for improvement would greatly benefit candidates in preparing for future opportunities. Emeritus has a great reputation, but this aspect of their candidate experience needs improvement. Clear and timely communication, along with constructive feedback, can significantly enhance the overall interview experience for prospective employees.

Program Advisor
I had a really smooth and well-organized interview process that felt totally aligned with my skills and the role I was interviewing for. The interviewer and the recruitment team were great about giving me feedback as we went through each step.
- Can you discuss your past work experience?
- Would you be able to participate in a mock call?
