Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EMCO.
Management Trainee
I initially connected with a recruiter at a university job fair, submitting my resume. Subsequently, they reached out via email to arrange an in-person interview. The recruiter was very responsive and punctual throughout the process. The interview was conducted by the same person I met at the job fair. We discussed their past connection to the university and their views on graduates from the institution. The interview was quite conversational. Ultimately, they suggested I explore a different sector within the company, one I hadn't initially applied for but which aligned better with my skills and expertise.
- What led you to pursue your current field of study?
- Could you share some of your interests outside of your academic or work life?
Manager
It started off fine. Then they had me do a computer-graded assessment that I just barely failed. The interviewer called me stupid, so I ended the interview right then because I wasn't going to be treated like that by a potential employer.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weaknesses?
Management Trainee
It was a bit of a slog but pretty organized. I liked chatting with different people at the company. Finding out my DISC profile was important for how I acted. Be ready for questions about your leadership, past experiences, and personality.
- Can you describe a time you showed leadership?
- Tell me about a situation where you demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Can you share an example of your leadership in action?
