Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Embraer.
Engineering Intern
The first step was submitting my resume on Gupy, which included logic and English tests. Then, we had an online 'dynamics' session where we introduced ourselves to the managers on Teams. Each person had 5 minutes for their presentation, and there was no group dynamic. The managers then selected candidates for individual interviews, which took place the same day as the dynamics session. My individual interview involved two managers who explained their areas, asked me specific questions about myself and my experience, and the interview was conducted entirely in Portuguese and lasted about 30 minutes.

Engineering Intern
The group dynamic process was smooth, but I realized I should have focused more on the company's pillars to present myself better (with 4 slides) in the 5 minutes allocated. I moved on to the interview with the area manager and am awaiting feedback on the selection process.
- During the one-on-one interview, the manager exclusively inquired about my university experiences most relevant to the field.
Engineering Intern
The hiring process was barely advertised and I got in through a referral from someone in recruitment. The first stage was in-person with HR at the company, where I had to fill out forms, write an essay, and do a presentation about myself using posters, personal items, etc. It was a free-form activity, and the recruiters seemed professional at first. Although I got positive feedback to move forward, after seven months I still hadn't heard back from them. Even though they said they were available to answer any questions via email, my emails went unanswered. Since they hire interns year-round and there were several interview and hiring rounds after mine, it makes me question the validity of the process. You get approved, but nothing happens afterward. It makes me think that referrals and other 'personal' connections are necessary to move forward.
- Could you describe your English proficiency level?
- When is your expected graduation date?
- Are there any particular areas you're interested in exploring?
