So the company rescinded the contract 5 days before my start date, even though we did 4 rounds of interviews, I got the offer letter and contract signed, and I had already resigned from my old job. The reason they gave was that the headcount was removed for Singapore. This was after the SAP acquisition of Emarsys news. The people there tried their best to help though. Since it was during probation, they compensated me 7 days. The HR specialist even helped set up job alerts. The standard process was: 1st with HR, 2nd with the Sales Director, 3rd was a mock presentation with the MD and Sales Director, 4th was again with the MD and hiring director, they wanted to ensure both sides were a good fit.

I applied via LinkedIn and was contacted very quickly. The first conversation was with Talent Acquisition. In the next step, I had a phone call and a video interview with my target department. I had to introduce myself, talk about my previous sales experience, and answer some questions. The questions were very fair, and you could tell that the 'human' was the focus. A few days later, I had another video interview with HR. Afterwards, I was invited for a trial work period in Munich. Mainly, it was about getting to know my future area of responsibility, colleagues, and the office. At the end, however, I had to complete a 'challenge'. At the end of the day, I received the job offer.

I was contacted on LinkedIn by Emarsys's recruitment team, and the whole recruitment process was a big part of my career decision. The first interview was scheduled within 5 days. The recruiter and hiring managers were quick to reply and clearly explained the next steps, making the whole thing smooth. It only took 2 weeks from start to finish, and that included a chat with the MD of APAC. It was a really open discussion, one of the most honest I've had with senior management. Onboarding is also smooth, with a good system in place to make sure all new hires have a consistent experience.
