This place felt like a pyramid scheme, honestly. Save yourself the trouble and just move on! Emanation Marketing Group (EMG) might pop up on your job search, especially if you're a recent grad or student looking for marketing, advertising, or communication roles. But once you're in an interview, you realize these words mean something different here. Basically, the interview was more of a sales pitch about perks that sound too good to be true, like travel and meeting new people, without much detail on the actual day-to-day work. When I tried asking basic questions about company culture or a typical workday, the interviewer would just pivot back to how amazing the 'perks' are. I guess they made up their mind when I asked about the actual work. Honestly, do yourself a favor and forget about wasting your time and talent on this place; it feels like an MLM front.

I applied online and they called me less than 24 hours later. The first in person interview follows a phone screening, and it only lasts like 10 minutes. FELLOW COLLEGE STUDENTS!!!! Do NOT apply to this internship. It is 100% a scam. They are not a marketing company, they are a third part labor coordinator. If you work here, your day to day "marketing" will include selling samples at Costco and Sam's Club. They tell you that you have to do this if you want to have your own team one day and learn the "behind the scenes stuff." I highly recommend that you google "Emanation Marketing Group DevilCorp" because it explains exactly the type of company this is. I went to the interview in spite of existing negative reviews, but please take my honest advice and DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. You are better working at a grocery store for the summer than this internship. You will not learn anything here, and you will be essentially used for minimum wage work indefinitely. The interviewer literally asked me two questions and didn't listen to my responses. They clearly don't care who they hire, because it's just drone work. Please do not fall for whatever position description you read. It is completely inaccurate. They didn't have a single marketer in their office, all they had was a receptionist and a recruiter, there was even an extra room that was completely empty (and this office was literally the size of a dorm) showing how they are not conducting any real work.

I applied for this job posting on LinkedIn and they got back to me super fast, within 30 mins which was unexpected but also made me a little iffy. We set up a call and booked an interview for the very next day. I wish I'd looked into the company more beforehand. They called to confirm I was still coming. I arrived 15 minutes early, but when I got to the office, nobody was there and the door was locked. I waited a bit, but no one showed up. I tried calling the contact person, but no answer. I even asked someone else in the building if people are usually there, and they said yes. My gut told me to bounce, so I did. They never followed up or tried to reschedule. I considered sending an email but decided it wasn't worth the effort. It's possible there was a mix-up, but some communication or rescheduling offer would've been nice. Based on reviews I've seen, I probably dodged a bullet. Long story short: they were quick to reply at first but then super unprofessional and a letdown. All that prep and travel for an interview that didn't even happen.

The interview process was pretty intense and interesting. I had a chance to meet with one of the managers on the first interview. For the second interview, I had to go to Sears to see what they sell. Last interview was to meet with a manager to talk about all the details about the company.
