First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elliott Davis.
Audit Intern
The interview was surprisingly straightforward and relaxed. The interviewer focused solely on behavioral questions, steering clear of any technical topics. I felt that my upbeat demeanor and enthusiasm really resonated with them, as I made sure to convey genuine interest in the role and the company. They seemed to appreciate my bubbly personality, which contributed to a positive atmosphere throughout the conversation. Overall, I left the interview feeling optimistic and confident about making a good impression.
- Who is your biggest role model?
Transaction Advisory Services Senior
After clearing the technical rounds with the hiring managers, which went well, I also cleared the HR round. They then asked for my pay slips, other offer letters, and monetary details. After I provided this information, which included details about other firms I was interviewing with and my expected compensation, the HR scheduled a call. I thought it was for CTC discussion, but it turned out to be a 30-minute call where they informed me about several things. They told me they would blacklist me if I accepted their offer and didn't join later, assuming I got a better offer. They also mentioned they couldn't match market pay immediately, with adjustments happening after joining based on performance. They emphasized that the offer letter is based on trust, and this trust needs to be mutual, which took about 15 minutes. I was informed that I'd need to complete the US CPA to sign or be promoted to manager, which confused me as I didn't think transaction advisory services involved signing. They also suggested money isn't the most important thing and that it should be fine as long as it's not a limiting factor, making me wonder if they were trying to low-ball me. Throughout this, I had to over-explain my reasons for wanting to join. I felt exhausted by the end of the call and realized it wouldn't align with my values. Before they could discuss the CTC, I decided not to proceed because the HR call made me very uncomfortable.
- Could you walk me through the entire process I would follow for a FDD?
Associate Accountant
The interview process was smooth and friendly, consisting of three interviews: HR, Technical 1, Technical 2, and a final HR. The process was fast, and results were updated very quickly. It's important to have good knowledge from an accounting perspective.
- Do you have knowledge in accounting?
- Can you explain journal entries?
- What is your knowledge of financial statements?
Growth Strategist
Got a message from the recruiter and set up a 30-min chat. It was a good talk, and they explained the job. Then I spoke with the hiring manager, which felt more like a casual chat. Didn't move forward after that, but everyone was friendly and quick to respond.
- Could you give me a brief overview of yourself?
