Elite Educational Institute Interview Questions
& Process

I got there a bit early, went over my notes, and Sarah, the manager, came to get me. We started by talking about my experience, then she asked me some behavioral questions, like how I'd deal with a tough coworker, which I used to show off my problem-solving abilities. After that, I got a question about managing scarce resources, and I laid out a plan for a technical task, which seemed to go over well with Sarah. Then we chatted about how teams work together and what defines success, and I left feeling pretty good. Sarah said I'd hear about a second round of interviews within a week. It was tough, but it felt fair, and I felt good about it.

I had a quick 10-minute phone chat for the first round. Then, a few days later, they invited me for an on-site interview that was about 30 minutes long. Sadly, no one from HR got back to me after the second stage.

I went in and took three different tests: the SAT Writing, SAT Reading, and SAT Math instructor diagnostic exams. The writing and reading tests felt like the real SAT, but the math exam was way harder, apparently from the GRE math section. Then I interviewed with the director. It was super chill, he was a great guy. We basically went through my resume, chatting about each part. We even talked about random stuff and joked around. He told me about the company and their training. They seemed really organized. I wasn't sure I'd get hired because I'm young and less experienced than the other teachers there, but the director made it seem like I might. The bummer is he never got back to me. It's not cool to leave people hanging after they drove over, took tests, and spent two hours there. Makes me not want to apply again or work with Elite.

I worked as a math tutor at ELITE in a different branch for a few summers, took a break last summer, and then reapplied to a different branch for this summer. First, I had to do some paperwork, even though my background info was already submitted online. Then, I took a screening exam, which was about 20 minutes long and had 15 math questions. These questions were way harder than SAT/ACT level and you couldn't use a calculator. I also took a screener that was pretty much like the science part of the ACT. I then had a casual chat with the branch director about my past teaching experience at ELITE and other tutoring places, and my education. Because I'd worked for the company before, the process was likely easier and more relaxed.
