First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EliseAI.
Strategy Manager
I was initially contacted by the CEO via a mutual connection. Then I was introduced to the Head of Strategy. I had to complete a take-home case study that involved analyzing the business case potential for the company. After that, I was invited for a final in-office interview. I met with the Team Head, and then several staff members including HR and the Chief of Staff. We talked about the project and my background.
- Can you walk me through your reasoning for the case study?
Strategy Operations Associate
The recruiters were nice and pretty responsive, but it was obvious they were swamped since it took them 4-5 days to provide updates without any logistical info. The process was: 1. A screening video chat. 2. An interview with a senior associate or hiring manager. 3. A practical exercise. 4. A final onsite presentation of the practical exercise along with more interviews. I got to step 3 but was rejected after submitting my practical. The feedback was: 'The analysis demonstrated strong thinking and a solid grasp of the problem; however, the overall presentation would benefit from greater clarity and polish to more effectively communicate key insights and recommendations.' The practical was essentially two cases in one, with 3 questions. The first two questions involved more technical analysis, and the third was to build a presentation deck. They didn't specify how to present the findings for the first two questions, so I created a somewhat basic whitepaper with summary results and brief explanations of my methodologies, backed by extensive EDA and data analysis in Python. I put a lot of effort into my slide deck but less into my whitepaper, and I think that's why I didn't make it. Basically, if you check their Glassdoor reviews, they expect you to go way above and beyond on the practical exercise to 'prove' you're willing to put in that extra effort for the job.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Why are you interested in EliseAI?
Strategy and Operations Manager
I had an initial call with a recruiter, then a 1st round interview with someone on the team. Early on, it seemed like they lost interest and decided I wasn't a fit. The rest of the interview was spent on generic, pre-planned questions with no real follow-up. I asked the recruiter for feedback on why I didn't move forward, but they said they don't provide that.
- Could you describe a recent project you worked on?
- What are your career aspirations?
