Data Analyst
The interview process was pretty structured, with a good balance of technical and practical problem-solving. It kicked off with a screening call where we chatted about my background, main projects, and general knowledge of data science stuff like stats, Python, and SQL. Next up was a technical assessment covering exploratory data analysis, SQL, and basic machine learning (regression, classification, feature selection). The questions were pretty direct, testing practical knowledge. The last round was with team members, discussing real-world scenarios and how I'd tackle data issues in their business. They also checked out my communication, teamwork, and how well I explain data insights to non-technical folks. Overall, it felt conversational and fair, a good mix of coding, analytics, and applied thinking.

Data Scientist
The interview had three total rounds, all virtual. I spoke with two people in the first round and three in the second. I was cut after the second round, so I didn't make it to the final round. It was a mix of behavioral and technical interviews. The first round included a riddle and some funny questions, basically a vibe check.

The initial phone call and the chat with the Hiring Manager were pretty chill, mostly just talking. They asked a lot about what I've done before, and the hiring manager also talked about the projects they're currently working on and what's coming up. It seemed to go well, and they even mentioned I'd be a good fit. But then, radio silence. No word on if I'm moving forward or if it's a no-go. I tried hitting up the recruiter, but just got automated replies about them being out of office. Turns out the hiring manager was on leave too. It's frustrating when companies aren't serious about hiring. If you're going to be away, someone should follow up or at least give candidates a heads-up on the timeline. Super unprofessional! Elevate needs to step up their game.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- Can you describe a past project you worked on?
.NET Developer
I initially applied through an agency, and they forwarded my application to Elevate. My first scheduled interview was a bit of a mess due to miscommunication from HR regarding the timing. Eventually, I had an interview with two managers. It wasn't super technical; it was more focused on my background and information about their company. We felt it went well enough to proceed. Later, my agent informed me the next step was a 'personality evaluation.' This was a new one for me. I agreed to it and was sent a link to an online assessment. This test was extremely long and repetitive, with about 104 pages of similar questions presented in different orders. I suspect it was to check for consistency or perhaps gauge fit, but it felt like a redundant exercise and I eventually stopped trying and clicked randomly. I then decided to withdraw my application.
