Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Elanco.
Scientist
I was told the first round would be a casual chat with the department head about my background and if I'd be a good fit for the company. But on the day, without any heads-up, it was a technical interview with three people. I wasn't ready for it. The interviewers were nice, but being surprised like that (I hope it wasn't intentional, that would be a bit sneaky) left a bad feeling. Make sure you get the interview format confirmed in writing beforehand.
- Questions about standard processes and workflows were asked.
Principal Scientist
The interview process is pretty standard. You'll have a few rounds with different people. If you have a PhD, you'll do a presentation in the final round.
- What makes you want to work for this company in this specific role?
Senior Scientist
The hiring manager and recruiter were very responsive to my questions. The onsite interview involved meeting the team and a presentation of my research. Travel accommodations were great.
- Can you tell me about your experience in managing people?
- Why are you interested in moving into this field?
- Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with a supervisor and how you resolved it.
