First a recruiter will email you to see if you are okay with working one night and to discuss salary range. Be aware the salary number is lower than what is advertised online. Then you will speak with the hiring manager. Be aware the hiring manager may be late and you might have to rush the interview. If that goes well, there will be an in-person interview. If you value your time, be aware that communication between the recruiter and the manager is not the best.

I applied online and felt my experience was a great match. But, I was surprised to get an automated rejection email just a few hours later, with no way to get feedback. El Camino Health, being a healthcare organization, seems insensitive to candidates impacted by Covid-19 layoffs and potential employment gaps. Many companies weren't hiring during the pandemic. I really think El Camino Health should rethink their auto-rejection emails and how their talent team operates, because this experience was really disappointing.

I had two phone calls to discuss the role. They looked at my resume and asked about my understanding of the job requirements. I had to answer questions about health info privacy and professional behavior, especially concerning boundaries in an inpatient mental health setting.
