Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EisnerAmper.
Audit Staff
Started with a phone call from the recruiter to chat about what I'm looking for in a firm and my interests. Got an email the next day to set up the second round. The second round had two senior associates from the team I'm interviewing with. They asked basic behavioral questions, so basically just practice using the STAR method. The last round was with a partner from the same group, and it was pretty chill. We mostly just talked about me, my internships, and what brought me here.
- Describe a time you worked with a difficult teammate and how you managed the situation.
Audit Staff
The interview process wasn't very enjoyable. The manager seemed quite unfriendly, not a pleasant person to interact with. It was difficult to build rapport or get a laugh out of them. They were hard to impress and didn't seem open to negotiation. The experience didn't motivate me to consider working there or get me excited about the role. It didn't really help with the conversation either. Ultimately, it felt like I was dismissed.
- Can you describe your current responsibilities?
Summer Audit
The interview process was very smooth and easy. The interviewers were very nice and I had great conversations during both rounds. The interviews were virtual using Webex. Nothing was awkward and it made me feel at ease. Personally, it really felt like we were conversing as friends.
- Could you tell me why you decided to apply to Eisner?
- And why did you choose to pursue accounting?
